Today, John Larson of Hibbing filed for candidacy for State Representative,
District 5B.

"It's exciting, said Larson.  This is my first time filing but I've already
been campaigning for several months, and I'm pleased with the overall
response our team is getting from the members of our district."

Larson will be running on the Republican ticket this upcoming election.  "I
understand that alone is going to be a challenge because of strong DFL
tradition in this district.  But I've been a businessman in Hibbing for the
last 15 years, and I've seen firsthand how DFL policies have been
detrimental to the hardworking men and women of this area."

During his campaign, Larson will emphasize the need for fiscal
responsibility, increased funding for law enforcement, equalization in funding for
K-12 education,and reduction in unnecessary taxes.  Most importantly, he says, he will
speak for his constituents.  Larson is Union Endorsed.

"I listen to people everyday and I know firsthand the hardships people face
on a day-to-day basis.  My goal is to make sure the voices of the people of
District 5B are heard down in St. Paul.  It's time to bring state government
back to the people, and effect some real change for the Range".
